Your night begins with a special after-hours viewing of our latest exhibition—Planet Shark: Predator or Prey—in a relaxed underwater cocktail atmosphere.

Then join Dr TV (aka ECU’s Tania Visosevic) for a light-hearted and lively discussion of Spielberg’s classic film masterpiece.

We’ll then watch a full screening of the suspense-thriller Jaws in our NWS Shipping Theatre, as together we re-live the teenage excitement of the summer of ‘75 when this creature feature became the world’s first blockbuster film phenomenon.

Tania Visosevic is a lecturer for the School of Communications and Arts at Edith Cowan University, where she combines her research in new media platforms with educating students in understanding the nature and experience of the moving image.

Jaws the movie has been instrumental in her relationship with sharks. Every time she hears the famous “…Dum Dum, … dum dum dum dum …” she doggy-paddles for her life! She is hoping her introduction to Jaws will help her get over her selachophobia (fear of sharks).
