Maritime Day Sat 2 Nov 2019 9:30am – 5:00pm WA Maritime Museum Fremantle is a thriving port city that has shaped what it means to be Western Australian! Come and help celebrate the maritime industry in our working port this Maritime Day. There will be plenty of free fun, action and family entertainment down at Fremantle Harbour, including: • Board a tug or emergency response vessel • Free harbour rides • Border Force protection dog • Royal Australian Navy clearance dive team • Kids! Dress up as a mermaid, pirate or fish and join our dress-up parade • Free face painting • Jesse the Pirate • Learn to use your smartphone as a microscope to discover tiny sea creatures • Historic and modern photography display • Musical entertainment and more! But wait, there’s more! Visit WA Maritime Museum and HMAS Ovens Submarine for a gold coin entry! Or catch Planet Shark: Predator or Prey (paid exhibition; kids under 5 are free!) before it finishes on 6 November. We’ll also have, free kids' activities from 10:00am-2:00pm and Family-Friendly Museum tours at 10:30am, 11:30am and 2:00pm. The free outdoor exhibition, Container – the box that changed the world, is also on with six sea containers trailing from WA Maritime Museum down to E-Shed Markets.
