Bura (Big Swamp) at Dusk

The nine art quilts featured in the accompanying exhibition depicts aspects of Wetlands on the Swan Coastal Plain - swamps, lakes and rivers, and native plants and animals.

The lecture, by Project Co-Ordinator Pat Forster, will explore links between Whadjuk Noongar (Perth) country and Menang Noongar (Great Southern) country.

The set is being created in the spirit of reconciliation with the Noongar community, and for educative purposes. It follows the ‘Balbuk’s Country’ quilts which were made on the suggestion of the National Trust of Australia (WA) for their 2017 Heritage Festival and subsequent display at the City of Perth library.

Held in the Old Co-Op Building, Museum of the Great Southern.

No bookings required. Gold coin donation. Morning tea provided.
