Eyeing the Museum

Welcome to the Museum of the Goldfields where you can have fun as you spot mystery objects on Earth, as well as celestial bodies in the sky! Take photos to capture memories of these school holidays.

Telescope Spotto Trail

Dates: 23 September – 8 October
Times: 10.30am – 3pm
Cost: $3.50
Age: 4+
Bookings: Not required

Make your very own telescope to help you spot the mystery bits and pieces in and around the Museum.

Sky Watching

Dates: Monday to Friday, 25 September – 6 October
Times: 10am – 10.30am
Cost: $2
Age: 5+
Bookings: Advisable
Note: Activity will only take place when the moon is in the sky

Did you know that you could go moon-spotting in the day time? If the moon is in the sky and we can see it, we will use the Museum telescope to see how different the moon can look in the daytime.

Come and Enjoy our Night Sky

Dates: 27 September & 4 October
Times: 7pm – 8.30pm
Cost: $5
Age: All
Bookings: Essential due to limited places
Note: Activity may be cancelled if it is cloudy

The Museum has a new telescope for looking at the night sky. Come along to find out what we can see perhaps: some of the planets, constellations and stars above us.

Life Through Mobile Lenses

Dates: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 26 September – 6 October
Times: 10.45am
Cost: $7.50
Age: 9+
Bookings: Essential due to limited places

Bring a smartphone and have some fun taking photos, while improving your photographic and editing skills. You will need to download the Snapseed app onto your mobile before arriving. Please note the Museum does not have Wi-Fi available.
