Enjoy fun activities for the kids at the WA Museum - Geraldton these holidays

Nhaguwa gula – look closer!
Welcome to Yamaji country! Discover one of the oldest living cultures and its vibrant role in the Mid West!

  • Milyura and Marda - a Yamaji version of the favourite game of snakes and ladders
  • Lost for words – go to the On Badimaya Country exhibition, find the Badimaya words and see if you can identify the hidden objects
  • A hunting we will go - match the weapons, tools and containers from the museum’s collection with the bush tucker
  • Connecting the Connections - Use the construction sticks to make a 3D map of your own family connections. Starting with yourself, connect all those who make up your extended family.

Join the band
Learn the skills of braiding, binding and knotting as you make some impressive body bands: maga (head) band, dyili (arm) band, baduly (waist) band or a nyangga (neck) band, urlba (ankle) band. Featuring a Bundiyarra - Irra  Wangga Aboriginal guest presenter.
