Metamorphosis Masks Dates: 23 September – 8 October Times: 9.30am – 3pm Cost: $2 Age: 4+ Bookings: Not required for groups of 10 or less What mask will you select: a beautiful colourful butterfly, a cute spotted ladybird or a fearsome stinging wasp? Learn about the life cycle of your chosen insect and the important role it plays in keeping our biodiversity level healthy as you create your mask. Now you’re ready to transform (metamorphose) into your chosen insect! Meet the Minibeasts Dates: 26 & 28 September 10am – 10.30am; 27 September 1.30pm – 2pm Cost: Free Age: 4+ Bookings: Not required for groups of 10 or less A chance for young entomologists, or those who are just curious, to meet the Minibeasts! Activity Corner: Insect Investigation Centre Dates: 23 September – 8 October Times: 9.30am – 3pm Cost: Free Age: All ages Bookings: Not required for groups of 10 or less A place of activity, discovery and lots of fun for children and their families. Uncover the marvels and mysteries of biodiversity concealed in the minute world of insects Create your own insect creature on a felt board with coloured body parts and learn the identifying features of insects. Try the Who am I? discovery board, test your knowledge and learn more facts about the insects that inhabit the Mid West. Up Up and Away – taking to the sky. Follow the insect life cycle to solve the riddle. Insect Inspect. Use a magnifying glass to study and inspect a selection of prepared insect specimens in sealed acrylic containers. How many can you identify? What role does each insect play in the environment? Insect puzzles and games to share. Emerge transformed from the dress-up box as a butterfly, bee or ladybird.
