A woman standing in a garden holding a book.

Join author and journalist Victoria Laurie as she discusses her latest book "The Southwest: Australia's Biodoversity Hotspot" as a call to Western Australians to familiarise themselves with their own natural assets.

The cryptic nature of the region's extraordinary fauna and flora often makes it hard to see, harder to grasp. But unless new generations grow up with an empathy for the natural world on their doorstep, there will be few advocates for its conservation.

Victoria's book will be available for purchase on the night.
