Tiny Fossils, Big Story! Fri 7 Jul 2017 – Fri 8 Sep 2017 10:00am – 3:00pm Discovery Zone Visit the mini exhibition Tiny Fossils, Big Story! to learn about the marsupials that lived in Australia during the Pliocene Epoch, 5.3 million to 2.6 million years ago. Bandicoot and bilby fossils are displayed with artwork by paleo-artist Peter Schouten, who used research from Dr Kenny Travouillon, WA Museum curator of Mammalogy, to create detailed depictions of this era. This is incredibly important in helping us to understand how the world, and our place in it, has evolved and clearly demonstrates the value of museum collections in informing current and future scientific research. Dr Kenny Travouillon Fossils are kindly on loan from Queensland Museum, Australian Museum, Museum Victoria and South Australian Museum. Caption: Tiny Fossils, Big Story! Image Courtesy Peter Schouten
