Going with the Flow - A Sea Week 2016 Event The Leeuwin Current and ocean warming - their effect on our fisheries Wed 7 Sep 2016 4:45pm – 6:00pm Museum of the Great Southern The Leeuwin Current is a warm ocean current which flows southwards near the western coast of Australia. It rounds Cape Leeuwin to enter the waters south of Australia where its influence extends as far as Tasmania. Recent rises in temperature have effects on the state of the fisheries in Western Australia. Rhys Brown, Principal Management Officer, WA Dept. of Fisheries, will discuss these recent findings and how the fishing industry copes with these fluctuations.
