Museums in the Global WorldVideo | Updated 10 years ago Presented by Neil MacGregor, Director, British Museum The great cities of the world are global cities where citizens engage with the history, traditions and identities of people from all over the world: people who share their cities as residents, commuters or visitors. Museums can and should play a major part in making the idea of global citizenship a reality. They offer a public forum where different ways of thinking and doing can be presented and discussed, and where great objects from all around the globe can be exchanged and exhibited. This lecture was given at the University of Western Australia on Tuesday 25 October 2011.
