James Dexter: Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is James Dexter, Director, Creative and Regional Development for the Western Australian Museum. Before I welcome you to today’s symposium I would like to acknowledge Whadjuk Noongar, traditional owners of this land on which we meet, and to pay my respects to their elders past and present. Welcome to Unwritten Stories: Objects, Power and Shared Histories, presented by the WA Museum and the University of WA. We are greatly honoured, or in fact privileged, to have such a wonderful panel of presenters with us today and express our thanks to all our partners for their assistance in making this possible. Thank you to the British Museum most obviously for the exhibition and for the wonderful talks we’ll get today.
