Love is...Niki Comparti's blog | Created 1 decade agoToday we received a gorgeous letter from Mrs Edna Giles who attended the Unveiled exhibition with the Embroiders Guild of WA. Mrs Giles sent in a copy of her own wedding photo from 1956, featuring the gown she designed and made, and that is remarkably like Catherine Middleton's gown, when she wed Prince William. I was for the few short hours there transported back to a wonderful earlier time in my life, not everyone (or very few) get the chance for that to happen. Enclosed by matter of interest is a picture of myself signing the marriage register (1956), and Kate Middleton turns up in the same dress design a half century on, marrying Prince William no less, and so the fashion circle turns. When Kate stepped from the car and we had a first glimpse of her gown, my phone got a little work out from people that had actually seen my dress! Once again a very special thank you.
