1874 pattern
Blade; Long, thin, triangular blade - usual engraving on broad back of blade is present but unreadable. Blade tapers to double edge point.
Crossguard; barrel ring secured by rivet. Two rivets through main body of guard. Upward curving quillon ending in a flattened round finial. Three inspection marks on quillon - numbered Q29739.
Hilt; Wooden hilt secured by single wooden stud. The other metal stud secures a spring lock device - which works. Brass pommel. Wood has crude cross carved in one side and a cross and deep gouge in the other.
