Pre 1902 Sabretache - Standard Army Pattern - with badge of the Victorian Field Artillery Volunteers [Aust] in brass. 200mm also worn on helmet plates by Victorian Permanent Artillery.
Sabretache - plain field use - black leather - holder has red felt lining, sabretache has green leatherette[?] lining.
Black leather pouch cover is 35.1cm long x 32cms wide at bottom and 20.9cm wide at the top. On top of the sabretache cover is the name of the manufacturers 'Mowbray, Rowan and Hicus' over' Width 2 ' over ' Price 50/-pd' over Melbourne
The front view of the sabretache is 24.4cm wide at the bottom and 16.9cm wide at the top. The loops at the top are 2.5cm wide.
The back view of the sabretache is 22.1cm wide at the bottom and 16.4cm wide.
There is a 9mm circular 'button' and a 2.9cm leather cross strap[?].
The brass badge is a Standard Artillery Badge of Coat of Arms of the Queen - over cannon on field - underneath on scrolls beneath Coat of Arms ' DIEU ET', "'VICTORIA' 'MON DROIT' each on a scroll. - Beneath cannon - on one long scroll - "AUT PACE AUT BELLO'
