Field Service Frock - Khaki Colonel.
Squared skirts on front, closed at back. 'False belt' outlined around waist, two shallow three pointed flaps, pleated breas pockets, on skirts below - squared flap, one button each, buttons on each of the breast pockets. Button up to collar type.
Collar; fall down collar with gorget patch [see provenance], Blue with red stripe in middle. Buttons to attach false collar on lining. 2 Hook and eyes.
Cuffs; Cotton embroidered rank on sleeves - 1 x Bastian flap edged brown cotton lace with light of white cotton running through it - upon bastin metal crown [white] mounted on dark khaki over brown and white cotton embroidered star similarly mounted. From centre point of bastion and either side three rows of cotton lace with white light bordered by 4 lines of light brown cotton braid. Colonels rank.
Shoulder boards; khaki? mounted on board, edged blue, 2 parallel lines of red running from button.
Buttons; brass, 'cannon on field'. on pockets , small ball buttons - 1.2cm across. On front 5 larger ball buttons - 1.2cm across. On shoulder board - ordinary button 1.8cm across
