WEDDING DRESS

Brown satin, one-piece day style wedding dress. Bodice: Low curving neckline, piped. Decorated in stomacher effect with folds of the material forming V from shoulder-waist, with interlacing linking brown silk covered buttons (15). Cut with boned central seam, forming low, sharp point, and shaped with 2 long boned darts, one on either side. Side seams boned. Waistline piped and central seam. Back cut in 4 sections with curving piped seams. Flat folds of material continue from shoulder around neck. Back fastening with hooks and eyes. Sleeves piped at shoulder, tight at top, expanding at elbow under rouched and almost vandyked section, all edges piped. Tightens at wrist, with small frill and piping on cuff. Fastens with 3 hooks. Fully lined with white cotton.
Skirt: Set onto waistband with wide section of fine pleating (hand stroking) v shaped opening panels from waist - hem in matching material, like vandyking. All piped. Skirt lined with brown glazed cotton and wool. All hand sewn. Matching cape at CH.1981.126.
