PAPER BAG Papercraft

H1990.268

Brown paper bag with cartoon and print in blue ink on the front. Paper is lined in texture and appearance. In the centre top half of the bag is a cartoon of a blackboard. To the left of the blackboard is a cartoon of a young boy wearing shorts and a shirt blowing up a paper bag with his mouth. Within the blown up paper bag are the following words: "Papercraft / paper / bags". Papercraft is in italics in what appears to be a distinctive style to possibly the firm. At the centre bottom of the blackboard there is a smaller cartoon of a boy with his hands over his ears. Under the blown up bag appears the following print: "The PAPERCRAFT Division of / LAMSON PARAGON (W.A.) LTD. / specialises solely in the production of high quality printed and plain Bags from Kraft, Sulphite and Glassine Papers, Cellulose and Polyethylene / Films". Below this appears an emblem which consists of two world globes with the word "PARAGON" written in red ink going through them. To the left of the emblem appears the manufacturers name and address which is as follows, "Lamson Paragon (W.A.) Ltd. / 37-45 Pier Street, Perth / Telephone BF 2591". Below all this writing is some more writing that stretches across the bottom of the bag and is underlined by a thick blue line. It is as follows; "Papercraft Works: Queens Park, Western Australia" The edge of the mouth of the bag is a small zig zag pattern.
