TABLE CENTRE, Embroidered
H1989.695
Oval table centre with crocheted, scalloped edges and a line of pink stitching at its inner edge. Bird satin stitched on a bough with leaves and blossoms at one end and on the other side a smaller sprig of leaves and flowers. Colours include yellow, blue, brown, pink and green. Stitching on front and back of piece is almost identically neat. Design of work was by a firm or person named Liberty. Table centre was made as a show exhibit and won many prizes including first at the Perth Royal Show in 1969 and helped exhibitor win aggregates at Waddington, W.A in 1956 and Bencubbin, W.A in 1960.
