SCALES, beam balance

Beam balance scales. Painted black with maker's name in gold and red: 'SCALEMAKERS / J & J SIDDONS LTD. / WEST BROMWICH / ENGLAND' Cast on top of base: 'TO WEIGHT 2 LB'. Set of six weights ranging from 1/2oz to 1lb kept in the bottom half of a tobacco tin. Initially used in Guiseppe Grasso's barber's shop for weighing tobacco. (See details below) Moved to Francesca's grocery shop in East Perth when that opened in 1935.
