H1989.392

Game uses a flexible rubber board and plastic letters to enable children to write words or sentences. a. Cardboard box, covered with paper. In part the lid reads : 'LEARNING TO SPELL / IN A WAY WHICH IS FUN / 5-8 years' One edge of the lid reads 'The letters are quickly and securely fixed in the rubber tray. When building up a word or a sentence the letters are / placed in the bottom groove of each line. The top groove is then pushed back with the thumb to allow the top of the / letter to enter. When the thumb is released the letter is locked in position. The other long edge states : 'To remove the letters, turn the rubber tray upside down and bend it backwards. If a word is mis-spelled, a single / letter can be removed without upsetting the rest. Approved script is used because the modern child learns to read / and write in script.' b. One red rubber base board for letters to slot into. On the reverse information includes ' K367 LEARNING TO SPELL / A KIDDICRAFT "SENSIBLE" TOY'.
