Short dress of white lawn; wide neck extending to short puffed sleeves; cape-like collar begins at shoulder and continues in two piece to centre back, decorated with Ayrshire work; short bodice with Ayrshire work, mainly geometric pattern of circles, dots, worked holes; narrow insert waistband; short skirt gauged to waistband; tablier style decoration composed of Ayrshire worked flaps; hem decorated with tucks and Ayrshire work; back closure at neck, cloth button at waist. Wide neck, puffed sleeves. Hand-sewn throughout.
