Inscriptions: Signed and dated: "Dawson NADEL ? / 1900" lower right corner, black watercolour. "Maplemore" on hull of ship. "65" twice on hull of ship. [NADEL is possibly WADEL, i.e. West Adelaide?] Subject Matter: Single-funnel, four-masted steamship. Flying blue ensign with anchor in the corner. Blue indicates naval reserve. Other: "SS Maplemore" carried troops to Boer War from Fremantle.
