Walters" "Registered" "The Orient Steam Navigation Company, Steamship, / "Orient" / built by John Elder and Co., Govan, Glasgow / Length 460 feet, beam 46 ft 6 in; depth 36 ft 8 in; tons register 5386, horse power 5400" Back of frame: label for "Gem Picture Gallery" Miss a Boam specialist in picture framing." In pencil: "One of first steam vessels to sail to W.A." Subject Matter: Two-funnelled, four-masted steamship. Other: "Orient" built 1879. Its first passage to Australia took 37 days 22 hours. Medium note: is an albumen print.
