Hammerless, dropping block action with indicator. Charge/projectile: snider cartridge 'necked down'. Sights: fore - vee on block, rear - bridge. LHS: Breech block plate: 'V.R. Enfield 1883'. Crown over arrow, symbol E (on side) surmounting 'I' (?). Condemned mark on stock. Crown of 24 stamped on bands. Enfield storekeeper's mark on stock with 'LI' underneath. Furniture: two bands, screwed and 3 sling swivels.
