Circular metal base with engraved text at front reading: 'THE AUSTRALIAN DESIGN AWARD/ PRESENTED TO/ BEN LEXCEN/ FOR THE DESIGN OF AUSTRALIA II/ BY/ THE HON. BARRY JONES M.P./ MINISTER for SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY/ SYDNEY, 21 DECEMBER, 1983'. Metal surface is scratched and discoloured in parts. Smooth metal surface on base with scuff marks and scratches. Top of metal base has textured metal surface with yellow/brown corrosion spots. Triangular clear glass prism sits on top of metal base with thin layer of blue glass in between. Blue colour can be seen through clear glass. White chevron motif on front of glass prism at bottom right (logo of Australian Design Awards). Glass is chipped on right side of back triangle edge and left triangle edge.
