Silver words in enamelled blue oval read 'ISSUED BY DEPT. OF DEFENCE./TO WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA' and in blue enamelled banner below the words 'FOR DUTY DONE'. Pin from clasp on reverse is missing. Raised letters of maker's name to reverse 'STOKES&SON/MELB/STG. SIL.''
