Silver metal badge with blue enamel to front and stick pin hinged clasp to reverse. Oval shape surmounted by crown and scroll. 'AIF' (Australian Imperial Force) monogram within oval. Missing hanging bar from underneath scroll. Obverse: 'ISSUED BY DEPT OF DEFENCE', 'TO WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA / FOR DUTY DONE'. Reverse: engraved 'Wm McLEAN & CO / MELB./ STG.SIL. / 17973'.
