Shield shape at top of badge with blue enamel background, two dark blue enamel vertical stripes running down centre with reed plant details on left and right. Gold gilt finish inverted boomerang in centre. Black curved enamel border below shield with text 'MERREDIN'. Second curved black border below with text reading 'PREFECT'. Reverse: gold gilt finish, white paper or masking tape stuck to the majority of the badge, no fixing present.
