Black and yellow enamel badge with silver finish detailing and raised rim. Shield at top of badge with segmented yellow enamel border detail. Black enamel background with silver finish southern cross star constellation and text reading 'SOUTHERN/ CROSS/ D.H.S'. Silver finish lines resemble open book underneath pointed edge of shield. Curved black enamel banner below with text reading 'STRIVE', second black enamel banner at bottom with text 'CENTENARY'. Yellow enamel background in between with text '1891-1991'. Reverse: textured silver finish, text 'SHERIDAN/ PERTH' running sideways above and below brooch fixing with no pin or catch attached.
