MEDALLION, copper, ‘INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION,1881, PERTH’

Round, copper alloy medallion commemorating Perth International Exhibition in 1881. Small hole punched through top just below rim, and ring inserted through hole. Obverse has worn raised depiction of cross shaped exhibition hall with central double height home. Raised area around building line below deliniating section of obverse inscribed with 'INTERNATIONAL/EXHIBITION' and '1881 PERTH 1881' contoured around rim. Reverse has central raised depiction of black swan on water. Small stars in relief below swan. 'WESTERN AUSTRALIA' is inscribed around top half of rim. 'STOKES AND MARTIN' embosed in small raised letters at base of rim. Rim has ring of small raised dots preceding raised hatched border.
