Small, round, dark maroon, metal, cream and black painted label, ‘Shutz-Marke’, tin. Rounded lid top, slightly sunken painted text area. Text reads; ‘Schutz MBK Marke/ 50 21/ £/ Kohle-“Compretten/ (Name “Com…retten” geschützt)/ Carbo medicinalis “ Merck” 0,25/ Hochertiges Kohle-Tablettenpräparat./ Mehrmals täglich 1 – 2 Stück in Wasser/ zerfallen lassen und nach dem Umrühren/ einnehmen oder unzerkaut mit Wasser/ himunterschlucken/ Vergleiche beiliegende Gebrauchsanweisung./ E. Merck, Darmstadt/ C.F. Boehringer & Soehne G.m.b.H., Mannheim/ Knoll A.-G., Ludwigshafen a. Rh.’ Reverse: plain, with stamp printed text; ‘64Br0362’. Paint scratched, tin rusting and discoloured all over. Some charcoal tablets inside (tin rusted shut, unable to open)
