[1] TIN, thin, green & cream, black text, for crayons. Small, thin, green and cream, with black text, ‘GÜNTHER WAGNER’, crayon tin. Green and cream block colour design on lid of tin; circular maker’s mark, ‘Pelikan’, with stylised nest topped with pelican feeding young motif in cream square, upper left corner, long rectangular green panel with ‘GÜNTHER WAGNER’ across top of tin, rectangular green panel under ‘Pelikan’ motif ‘GEGR•1838/ 42/ AUSZEICH/ NUNGEN’ placed vertically, central long cream panel ‘’O’ lkreidenNr./ 575/ 24’ in large font, smaller cream panel in lower left corner ‘RUND/ GESPITZI/ GIFTFREI’, lower central green panel ‘HANNOVER UND WIEN’. Dirty marks (crayon/paint residue?) across central text, centre top, and centre lower edges of tin. Rounded edges, long thin hinge, sides and reverse painted black, paint chipped off edges and reverse, revealing silver coloured metal beneath. Reverse: ‘Rudi Freudenberg/ K16c’ hand engraved in child-like print in top left corner, rest plain, but with extensive scratching and general wear on paint, revealing silver coloured metal beneath. Inside: Tin held closed by two small raised ‘bumps’ of metal, one oblong, to the left of centre, one circular, top centre of front edge. Painted black interior, some scratching to inside lid. Absorbent cream coloured lining glued (?) on inside base, monogrammed with diagonally checked ‘Pelikan’ maker’s name, with pelican motif inside checks, absorbent material disintegrating.
