DRESS, navy, silk crepe, stylised print

H2008.151

Mid-length, slightly gored skirt, stylised multi-coloured floral and wide-brim hat motif pattern (red, green, yellow, purple, white) on dark navy background, lightweight silk crepe, dress. Slightly V-shaped neck, accentuated by large cross-over ties, held in place by two press studs (left missing, stitched in place instead), stitched to waist and side seams, becoming ties around back. Front of shoulders have stitched ruching on ties. Three-quarter length puff sleeves to elbows. Slightly gored/flared skirt with centre kick pleat to mid-calf in length. Small semi-circle dart at hip height in centre of skirt, leading to pleats/flare to hem. Reverse: two darts in mid-back to hips. Fabric in near new condition, with some discolouration across shoulder blades, pattern hides any other staining. Stand of neck worn through/frayed, tip of V neck worn through. Inside: Inner seams slightly frayed/worn, bottom hem hand-stitched/finished. Front skirt darts pulled from hips to hem are pulled loose/open but not completely torn. Arms have two small cream tabs sewn into overlocking, appear to be hanging tabs that have been cut off.
