BLOOMERS, linen, lace trim, ‘A.F.’

Wide legged, high waisted, cream, fine linen, netting and floral design lace trim on legs, drawstring waist, button fastened at sides, small hand embroidered cream ‘A.F.’ below right waist band, women’s bloomers. Two small darts from waist, down each leg. Light rust staining on bottom of left leg, near lace hem, and inner, lower right leg, near gusset. Lace pattern bordered by art deco, geometric, rectangular design, interspersed with three embroidered dots. Open, netting style lace, with floral, leaf and stem design. Reverse: drawstring waist not continued at back. Two small darts on each leg from waist band. Sides fastened with linen covered, round buttons, partially open to mid-way down legs. Triangular shaped gusset panel sewn into rear of crotch. No discernible staining on back, small line of staining on left side secure. Fabric in very good condition, considering age. Some discolouration inside waist band and leg lace.
