15 inch rectangular brown wooden ruler with a flat top and 45 degree sloping face on which the measurements are marked in inches. Flat top of ruler cut on slight angle underneath towards base in same direction as sloping face. Printed in black on flat top: ‘FOR/PICTURE FRAMING’ and ‘A.MAYRHOFER & CO./Perth and Fremantle’ and ‘’FOR/ARTIST’S/MATERIALS’. Handwritten in pencil on left: ‘J.O.F’. Handwritten in pencil in small letters on right: ‘Dorothy/FTY’. Printed in black on back: ‘A.MAYRHOFER & CO./Perth and Fremantle’ and ‘PICTURE FRAMERS/ARTISTS’/COLOURMEN’. In small writing upside down ‘Powell & Son, Adelaide’ and ‘MADE IN U.S.A’. Image of a circle with radiating wavy in centre of ruler. Written in pencil below printed words: ‘J.D.M.F’. Black National Trust number, '97/7', marked on back.
