LEATHER TELEGRAM POUCH and BELT

H1994.32

Black and brown leather pouch, attached to a belt with a round metal buckle. The flap of the pouch fastens onto a metal button. The sides of the pouch are reinforced with metal. Inside the pouch contains one pocket which holds 'Telegram advice slips', (see H.1994.33 and 34 for contents of pouch). A leather belt is fastened to the back of the pouch with four metal buttons. There are notes in the belt to adjust the length. Text found inside pouch reads 'B1411/ 8OCKY. ' Belt contains ink marks in the pattern of flowers on its inside. Belt buckle reads 'POST OFFICE/ COMMUNICATIONS/ AUSTRALIA'. Imprinted on flap of pouch are the numbers '18'.
