a) Square bowled washing machine with rounded corners on four legs with castors. All metal construction with lift-up lid and oscillating wash action. Metal frame between each leg supports a metal shelf to which is bolted the electric motor. Has plastic outlet hose, metal cover for fanbelt. One leg is marked 'ON' and 'OFF' with a metal rod going through which is moved for desired operation. Has rubber cased electric cord. Shaft at side supports wringer and its workings.
b) Wringer which slips over shaft at side of machine and be be rotated over wash bowl and separate laundry sink. Has two rollers. Metal top is hinged at both sides and can be raised and is marked 'MAYTAG'. Two screws on each side hold two metal lips over which washing is guided into ringers (c & d).
