MEDAL, Lord and Taylor
H1990.279
The obverse features four figures at what appears to be an alter which is decorated with the scales of justice and two hands clasped in a handshake. One figure holds a book, a second a candle (of understanding?), another a lion's head and the last (who wears a headdress of feathers), a leafy branch. A wheel is in the background at one side with a ship on the other and a tree at the top. To one side, "DEPAULIS F." Around the circumference are two crossed branches, one acorn the other with small berries. At the centre, "LORD / AND / TAYLOR / FOUNDED / 1826 / FRANCE". Below the branches, "H. DUBOIS".
