BASKET, Picnic
H1990.105
Rectangular hamper of woven, strong split cane. It is a top opening basket secured by a wooden rod which passes through 2 loops of unsplit cane which project through appropriate areas in the lid. While the body of the hamper is woven around cane uprights, the lid is worked around flat wooden slats which are also nailed on for extra strength. The hamper has a woven wooden handle.
