STAMPING BASE
H1989.979
Stamping base is dull brick red in colour but covered by ink marks and incomplete imprints of post office rubber stamps - on one side, "EST.A" ((from West Australia?) is discernible, and on the other, "KER" (part of Chorkerup). The mat would have been used as a pad on which items requiring stamping by post office staff would have been placed. It was used in the Chorkerup post office (a siding).
