[.a] Black cardboard or leatherette cover which encloses diary with press stud fastening at front. There is a pencil housed in a loop on the inner spine of covering flap. The 'Wellcome' logo of a unicorn is impressed in the back cover and is depicted on inside covers. Front flap is impressed 'WELLCOME'S / MEDICAL DIARY / 1931'. There are 303 pages of medical information before the actual diary commences, 152 pages of diary, then pages 305-400 are again medical information and price lists. There is a memorandum sheet inside back cover. Pages 117-125 only are completed, from Jan 1932 to June 1933.
[.b] Card, rectangular, advertising 'Wellcome's' insulin. Has been used as a blotting sheet by Rout.
[.c] Card, depicts open box and reads 'Hypoloid Neo Infundin (Oxytocic principle / of the Pituitary / Posterior Lobe' on one side and and 'Diginutum / ... / A stable solution of / the total glucosides / of Digitalis Leaf'. Has marker ribbon marked 'PRICE LIST, PAGE 321 WELLCOME CHEMICALS'.
