Red cloth-covered diary with inscription in silver 'THE/ AUSTRALIAN COMFORTS FUND/ GIFT DIARY 1919/ A.C.F. [in star]/ ALL COMFORTS FREE'. Contains 'useful information for Australian soldiers' including Decorations, military definitions, Bugle call meaning, rifle information, useful knots, war events, direction finding, first aid, horse care, morse code, semphore, and French for soldiers. Each week (double page spread) contains a handy hint with a line-drawn illustration. Little of the diary has been used (see below - inscriptions). The spine of the diary is stitched to allow a pencil to be inserted for safe-keeping.
