Same as H89.758; a. Sparklet with bulb inside b. One spare bulb. The sparklet is a stainless steel tube with screw-off bottom, screw-down tap with "SCREW DOWN TIGHTLY" impressed in it. The carbon dioxide bulb b. is placed in the bottom of the sparklet by screwing the bottom off and screwing the plunger down to its full extent. When the carbon dioxide bulb is placed in the bottom section and the item screwed back together, the bulb is pierced. The carbon dioxide is released when the plunger is unscrewed. The outlet valve is placed in patients mouth. Sparklets work on the principle of carbon dioxide's effect on the human respiratory system which stimulates breathing. This must be carried out where natural atmosphere is breathable, or oxygen must be administered. Used when poisoning occurs, especially cyanide poisoning.
