Anne Schofield described the object in her letter of offer dated 20 July 1988: "Openwork gold bar brooch with central quartzite nugget enclosing gold letters spelling the word "Poseidon". Scrolled terminals set with seed pearls." Poseidon signifies an Eastern Goldfields strike.
