GOLD BROOCH
H1988.644
Anne Schofield described the object in her letter of offer dated 20 July 1988: "Gold bar brooch, the bar with the inscription "RLLL 1897" and the word "Yalgoo" in a semi-circle above. Marked 18ct West Australia c 1897" "RLLL" represents the initials of Dr Lawson and his wife. The town of Yalgoo was prominent in the Murchison Goldfields. The piece belonged to the Auctioneer, Lawson's grandfather. Schofield purchased the brooch from Lawsons Auctioneers, Sydney.
