MEDAL, Knights Bachelor's Badge

Box: Red leather box lined with black felt and white silk. Silk lid liner bears the crest of the Royal Mint.
Medal: Second type, (smaller than the 1926 model). Knights Bachelor's Badge awarded to Sir Daniel Aarons in 1970 for services to the community. The badge consists of an oval gilt-enamel badge worn on the breast by means of a reverse broach pin. The design features a sword standing vertically in the centre of the badge surrounded by the scabbard belt and on either side by a pair of spurs. This arrangement is further surrounded around the edge of the badge by a laurel wreath. The gold coloured design is backed by red enamel. Hallmarks on the back: '(11?)/ 'JHJ'/ lion passant/ London/ 'O' (1969 date letter). See original data sheet for diagram.
