Embroidered mat, Islamic, possibly south central Asia/Caucasus; unbleached linen, coarse tabby weave; embroidered mainly in tent stitch with silk and silver metal threads; nine large squares containing labryinth motif (Chinese origin?); internal borders worked with human figureswearing possibly Azarbayjani hats, birds and hubble-bubble pipes; central square surround by mihrab and peacock feather motifs; internal and external borders marked by geometric needleweaving in unbleached silk thread; coarse stringy fringe.
