Embroidered mat, Islamic, possibly south central Asia/Caucasus; unbleached linen, coarse tabby weave; embroidered mainly in tent stitch with silk and silver metal thread; 2 borders of needleweaving, enclosing band of circular motifs; 4 square motifs in corners; symmetrically arranged Mogul-style boughs and birds in trees; central square motif with mihrabs on 2 sides, birds in trees on 2 sides.
