UNDER-SKIRT SECTIONS

CH1977.515

Pink under-skirt sections comprising: main skirt with two mother-of-pearl buttons fastening on one side. Overskirt section (18.5w) cut on the cross and decorated with parallel stitching in waving zig-zag lines, with flounce section cut on cross and pleated at intervals of approximately 5cm. False hem trimmed with gathered self-band also decorated as overskirt but straight lines. All machine-sewn. Probably late 19th century to early 20th century.
