Hamelin Bay Unidentified 2 (unknown)

Hamelin Bay

Timbers and large anchor inspected by Sledge, Paratta and Clausen. Original report by K. Patatta 1974/03/16 DMA File No. MA 196/75

Following an inspection by WA Museum staff this proved to be a non-shipwreck site consisting only of large round timbers with no evidence of fastenings or sheathing to indicate that they are shipwreck related. The anchor lying 100 metres north of the timber site was an iron-stocked Admiralty-type anchor and may have been a lost anchor from one of the Hamelin Bay wrecks e.g. Lovspring or a mooring anchor.
